Stair To The Moon

                  In      the    Fields     of    eyes

                 I         planted     some    dreams

Watered    them ,with  my  "hard work" streams

                 Used   my   strength   as   pesticide

Faith   was   wings  and   hopes   were   ride

It    took   long , did   not  happen    soon

With    my    will ,i   built    stair   to   moon

As  I  moved ,    upward    the   sky

Shine    of   moon   decreased ,don't  know  why

When    i    landed   ,was    no   silver    land

                  darkening   rocks  and   howling   sand

Asked  the  moon   with   shivering   voice

Where   is   glow  with   what   you   rise

With    your   grace   what   have   you   done?

Moon   said      sorry   as    i   have    none

Shine   i   had ,  was    borrowed   from   sun

He   makes    me   starve   and    gives   me  scarce

When    doesn't , i   cry   with    stars! (tears)

My    Dear   Friends   ,this   poem   is   dedicated   to   one   of   my   class  fellow   from   school  .
she   was   unique   for   me   to   her   habits   of   borrowing   so  many   stuff from   her   rich   relatives   .She    felt   confident   in   borrowed     clothes   and   jewelry   ,when    she    expected   guest  she   borrowed  even   furniture  without   realizing   that   people  from  whom   she   borrows   don't   speak    respectfully   for   her  .I   just   got   some   news   about    her  which   is   other   time   story  .

Dear    fellows   please  love   yourself, love   life   as   it   is   very   short   and   unpredictable .Ups   and   downs   come   to   test   our   strength .Best   you   have   is  "you"   and   Your  Confidence  so   whatever   come   to   you  is   not   enough    big   to   shake   your   faith   in   God   and  in  You!

Take   Care .God   Bless   You   All!!!

  6. I like your poem bout the moon. Yes, we wish for things and when we get them they're not as good as we thought.

  9. It is so sad that someone would go down that path. It is also a little sad that others enabled her to go down that pathway.

Life is for learning and lessons in truth :-)

  12. You write with deep feeling Baili and your message is clear... don't give all you have to build a dream that may disappoint you in the end, for it may not be what you thought it was. It is better to invest in your relationships with your family and keep your faith in the Lord, those are things that will last for eternity. I hope this poem you wrote about your friend helps to bring perspective to the situation for her. With love and hugs! May the blessings of the Lord be with you :)

  17. Beautifully worded. This poem is so meaningful and wonderful! It's such a shame about your friend, and hopefully she will discover that materialism isn't where the true beauty lies in life, and that there is so much more.

  18. Hi Baili, Sure like your poem. So true, the moon only reflects light and doesn't make any of its own. Well worth thinking about! Thanks for sharing your blog and your kind comments on mine. Baili, you have an unusually kind and wonderful heart! Always a pleasure to hear from you! Best wishes from Seattle!

  22. Thanks for the visit, Baili. As we walk the pass of life we should focus on the things we can change. As a friend of mine says: we do our part, and God will do his.

    Greetings.

    1. Thank you dear friend for your loving words that are precious to me.
I wrote poetry in my native language Urdu since I was 6 or 7 years old.
I shared some of my poetic attempts in English time to time on my blog too.
This piece came after quite a long break though

  27. Such a beautiful poem with a profound message. Sometimes we think we are climbing the ladder only to reach somewhere we would never really want to be. After all, all that glitters is not gold. Loved reading it!

  28. You are so brave, Baili! The thought of writing poetry scares me; the thought of writing it in a foreign language is terrifying. And you do it so well: powerful images, perfect words, an important message. I won't forget it! By the way, I love the photoin the sidebar "Fun at Beach" by my son! Sending you love and hugs!
